About Muscle Car Challenge
Muscle Car Challenge is a high-octane drag racing event held at the iconic Cootamundra Airport, NSW, created specifically for muscle car enthusiasts who want to unleash their machines in a safe, controlled environment.
Open to road-registered vehicles, as well as V8s, rotaries, 6-cylinders and 4-cylinders built in Australia or the USA, this event celebrates the raw power and legacy of true muscle cars. Whether you're running a stock classic or a fully built street weapon, this is your chance to experience the thrill of the strip.
More than just racing, Muscle Car Challenge is a fully filmed and photographed event, offering participants the chance to be featured in post-event media including full YouTube coverage, social media highlights, and optional photo and video packs available for purchase. It's the perfect opportunity to create lasting memories, show off your pride and joy, and gain valuable exposure for businesses and sponsors.
Whether you're here to settle a score with your mate, test the limits of your build, or line up against some of the fastest street cars in the country, Muscle Car Challenge welcomes all levels of competition and camaraderie.

Classes
Small Tyre NA
255 or 9" Tread & UNDER
Naturally aspirated vehicles running a maximum 255mm tyre. Pure engine power with no boost—just grip, skill, and revs.
Big Tyre NA
275 or 9.5" Tread & UP
Naturally aspirated cars with 275mm or larger tyres. All motor muscle, built for serious straight-line speed.
Small Tyre FI
255 or 9" Tread & UNDER
Forced induction cars (turbo, supercharged, or nitrous) limited to 255mm tyres. Big power on small contact patches—traction is key.
Big Tyre FI
275 or 9.5" Tread & UP
High-horsepower, forced induction monsters on 275mm+ tyres. Maximum grip meets maximum boost.
Outlaw
NO LIMITS
Half to ¾ chassis, street-registered cars with no limits on tyre size or induction. Run what you brung—if it’s street legal, it’s good to go.

MCC Street King
A true test of street-built power and performance.
The Muscle Car Challenge Street King shootout is a highlight of the event, reserved for entrants who are ready to prove their car is not just fast, but truly street-capable. This exclusive shootout is only open to participants who successfully complete the official 120km road cruise from Yass Service Station to Cootamundra Airport on Thursday.
It all leads to a high-stakes shootout on Friday, where the toughest street-driven cars that conquered the cruise go head-to-head to claim the title of MCC Street King.

Location
The event will be held at:
Cootamundra Airport, Railway Parade, Cootamundra NSW 2590
It is located approximately 4 hours from Sydney. It is approximately 30 minutes from the Hume Highway.
Accommodation, Meals & Fuel
Drivers and pit crew are responsible for their own accommodation and meals. There are multiple service stations but no E85 or Premium 98 is available in Cootamundra. There are various food and accommodation options available as well as Woolworths shopping centre, tyre and auto outlets.
The event will have a food van on-site for breakfast and lunch with coffee and drinks available.
Please note that due to CASA and Council regulations, there is NO SMOKING & NO FOOD is to be cooked or prepared inside the aerodrome. Any BBQs or food preparation MUST be done on the hard-standing area only in the car park. All competitors must place their rubbish in the bins provided.
